Resistance is not futile

Wake up! You will lose your country.

 —Gavin Newsom

Before I get into this, I want to say that I do not support any particular party. I support humane, and intelligent sane politicians with common sense. Unfortunately, the one in office lost all his marbles long ago.

In general, I find the democrats passive, and the republicans, aggressive. Too bad that they cannot meet halfway. But things seem to be changing in the U.S. Democrats are learning to grow some balls. I guess the level of corruption is too high of a price to pay. (image by: ArtByPam)

Americans have started to speak out fearlessly. They're pulling together in their neighborhoods to fight back ICE. There are massive protests across the nation to fight corruption. Activists, and ordinary people are joining force by getting on the streets to fight a Genocide unseen since the time of Hitler. Perhaps the  democrats such as Gavin Newsom, and Bernie Sanders, for the the first time in a longtime, are starting to act like leaders, asking people to rise, and save their country.

If you give them an inch, they take a mile. Never give them an inch.

Long ago, I got into an argument with my brother about abortion. It was on the ballad that teenagers would need a parental consent to get an abortion. I voted against this. He voted for it because he had kids, and believed that it was the right thing to do. I asked him what if the teen got pregnant because of incest or rape, and the parents forced her to continue with her unwanted pregnancy. I said this is how they win. They chip away gradually until Roe Vs. Wade is shredded into tiny pieces.

He now agrees with me because he has seen what has happened to abortion laws, and other laws that have come into play when no one speaks out. They just think, oh, it's something small. I'm not going to worry about it. You see, if you sit back, and think like that, all your rights will be taken away as you have seen in recent times.

I was at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday. They always start with the National Anthem. Except that I couldn't help thinking about the Irony of it all. You know that last verse of "The land of the free, and the home of the brave." All I could think of was ICE in L.A grabbing people off the streets, and sticking them into concentration camps. So, where was this land of the free, and the home of the brave that I was standing up for?

It's important to resist whether it is through the system as a politician, judge, or lawyer, an activist protesting on the street, a journalist reporting the truth, a filmmaker showing the public the hidden agendas of the controlling few, an actor like Al Pacino fighting a corrupt justice system in the movie titled And Justice for All, an artist like Bansky making a political statement by painting murals, a writer spreading the truth no matter how small the audience, or through meditation to tilt the dark energy to light.

History has taught us that freedom is never free. We must stand up for it. Not just for us, but for the society as a whole. We should be like the Borg Drone named Hugh in Star Trek who learned that "resistance is not futile."

Trump vs. Elon

Although I used to teach cardio kickboxing as an aerobic exercise, I never liked watching boxing. But for some reason, I'm really loving watching this fight. You know which fight I'm talking about, right? As the s--- hits the fan, and everything unfolds, we can just sit back and enjoy the show. Two unconscionable power couple pretending that they care about the American public. We all know that it's all about money and control. It's scary what $300 million can do as Elon claims that he was the reason Trump got elected. If true, the rest of you who voted wasted your time. Perhaps by next election, it will take one billion or more to put a president in office.

To be fair, Trump and Elon are not the only ones looking out for themselves. Just look into George Bush, Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and the list continues. And then we have the oh so complicated tax laws. Each line is written into law in favor of those who wrote it—politicians and their wealthy supporters. And occasionally, an average American benefits from it, but only by chance, not by intention.

Next, let's have a look at the stock market. Years ago, you were able to make money if you studied corporations and their numbers, and learned about their board of directors and their business policies. Not anymore. Why? Because they manipulate it much more than they used to, making sure that their friends make money from it. You know what I mean. Just have a look at the recent insider trading. Add to that the crummy interest on savings and CDs, jacking up the prices for cost of goods, making it impossible for people to own things, and the promotion to spend, spend, spend. The truth is that they want Americans to barely make a living, and work like slaves until they hit the coffin.

Oh and let's not forget the cryptocurrency—decentralized, peer to peer money laundering—which is only affordable if you belong to the good old boy's club, you know, the friends of the people who run everything. So, forgive me if I sound callous, but I'm loving this fight. Why? Because it feels so damn good.

Election 2024

I'm not a feminist. I'm all for equal pay, and equal rights for everyone. I believe we should continue to work together towards women's rights so that someday, women and men may be on equal footing. But I will not vote for someone just because she is a woman.

I have no problem voting for someone, regardless of gender, or race, if the person is qualified for the job. When Hilary ran, I didn't vote for her because, although qualified, I thought that she cheated Bernie, and was dishonest in so many other ways such as the Benghazi coverup. And that could be said about many politicians, but there is a limit, even in political dishonesty. This election, I will not vote for Kamala Harris. I feel that she is being forced upon us because she is malleable. She doesn't have the inner strength to stand up against AIPAC. We need someone who will give the middle finger to AIPAC. It is unconscionable for me to support anyone who supports genocide, murder of children, annihilation of an entire race, and rape of prisoners.

And don't even get me started with the republican party candidate who is out to lunch. Trumpet has zero understanding of the needs of the general population. And what amazes me is that many people who live in poverty are willing to vote for him. People whose children are in the military and call themselves "patriot," are willing to sacrifice their offspring's lives, not to protect the country, but to protect the profits of companies who could care less about the 18-year-olds sent to the front lines. And finally, I'm flabbergasted that there are women out there who support a man who wants to make decisions about women's reproductive system, and what she is allowed and not allowed to do when her life is in jeopardy, or when she is assaulted.

Both Kamala and Trumpet are being shoved down our throats, leaving a bitter nasty taste in our mouths. Trumpet has the conglomerates behind him, and Kamala is there by default. If people knew that Biden was frail and his memory was failing more than a year ago, why wouldn't the government know? I think that the government waited on purpose until the last minute to make the switch, so that it would be too late for other candidates to participate, and the process could be labeled "constitutional."

Anyway, that's my two cents about the 2024 elections. I refuse to vote for the lesser of the two evils. I say no to Trumpet, because besides the so many things wrong with the guy, he also causes a massive rift both nationally, and internationally. And I say no to Kamala, because although she is well-educated, she is just an extension of the status quo, and the status quo is in desperate need of a change. We must end AIPAC's influence, otherwise we will be nothing but slaves for the rest of our lives. AIPAC represents corrupt money and acquisition of power through any means necessary, including shooting toddlers in the head, and assassinating a pregnant doctor carrying twins. And when they kill children and civilians without an ounce of remorse, they become a major threat to society, an uncontrollable monster, impossible to subdue.

Biden beats Trump

Biden beats Trump was the consensus everywhere. I voted for Biden, not because I am a fan of Biden, but because I just don’t like Trump. I didn’t always dislike Trump. And although I didn’t vote for him or Hillary, I thought, well, maybe he will do good. Unfortunately, he has caused an unprecedented divide among Americans and nations.

I stopped watching the news and completely disconnected from what was happening in our world because I felt that there was nothing I could do to stop the corruption. I decided to go and live my life and focus on my writing. People would ask me how is it possible that you didn’t hear about this or that and I would say, I don’t follow the news because what’s the point when even the media manipulates the truth. For me, this type of mentality didn’t come without a reason.

I lost interest in news and politics when they shredded Ross Perot, threatened him and pushed him to quit. I lost interest in news and politics when the media hardly gave any air time to Ron Paul and reported faulty numbers and the USPS delivered my mail late on purpose – they delivered my lawn banners and other items in support of Ron Paul after the primaries were over and when I did received them, all the materials had been stepped on, broken and dirty. I lost interest in politics when the democratic party rigged Bernie’s votes and cheated him out of the presidency. The polls indicated that if Sanders had gone against Trump, he would have won. So, when Hillary lost to Trump, I thought that the democrats deserved it. They had cheated and replaced a winnable candidate with an unlikable one.

Because of the manipulation of votes and corruption, I stopped voting. I just didn’t see the point. Even voting for measures was a joke. I would do my homework, research the measures, and vote. But soon some bill would pass and turn the measure over. So, what was the point in me spending my time on something that was simply a waste of time? I wasn’t going to vote this year either. But everyone around me told me that I had to vote. They said that we need to get rid of Trump. I agreed with them, but would my vote even matter? I mean, it could have gone either way and Trump may have won. So, why did he lose? Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad that he lost because he was toxic for the country and for the rest of the world.

I think that those in power realized that the United States would fall apart if it continued under another four years of Trump. People protested on the streets, a dark energy hovered across America and Covid-19 destroyed lives and livelihoods. The friendly relationship with other countries soon took a bitter turn. I believe that Sanders said it best in an interview with the Guardian – that the U.S is moving further and further away from our democratic allies and shifting toward authoritarian governments.

So, did my measly vote make a difference? I do not know. A part of me thinks that we are all pawns in the game of life and yet another part of me likes to believe in free will and pushing to make a difference. Either way, I’m glad that I voted and my faith in the possibility of change has been restored a smidgen.
