Chasing UFOs Part I
Anyway, before I head out to the conference, I'm planning to stop by Beach Plum Kitchen. It has good ratings. So, why not?
I write about places that I visit and interesting things that I do. I comment on human and non-human rights, Politics, health, books, movies, restaurants, and anything that may interest my readers.
Chasing UFOs Part I
Another Birthday
It turns out that I'm not so special and unique after all. I have met many people who have the same birthday as me. I guess you could say that they were my long-lost twins until I met them. My roommate in college, my former personal trainer and his brother, the hostess who recently greeted me at a restaurant in the Marina, my sister-in-law’s cousin, and my cousin’s fiancĂ© and his brother, were all born on the same day as me.
I’m guessing as I go through life, I will meet many more people with the same birthday. But alas, here I am going through yet another year. And not to sound morbid, but I am grateful for being alive. Many people much younger than me have passed away this year.
That’s why I want to live life to the fullest, and experience as much as I can. I know that there will be more offbeat days to come, but if I didn’t have days like that, I wouldn’t appreciate all the fantastic days. Anyhow, below are a few photos from one of my outings.
I arrived in the afternoon. Everyone had been waiting for me because my niece had put a note on this brownie that said - do not eat, but they all wanted to eat it (this reminded me of the episode of Three's company when Chrissy ate Jack's pie by accident). So, my brother rushed me to cut a piece so that he could get his piece. That is why you see a missing piece before I could take a photo. Ameh means auntie in Farsi.A bunch of us went to The Landing in Westlake.
Timing and missed connections

Yes, this blog has been retired, but every now and then, when I'm in the mood to ramble, I'll be here.
In this digital age, we have so little privacy, and everything about us can be found online. Some of it has to do with the fact that we want to share everything. Maybe we want to show our authenticity and let the world know that we have similar struggles. This is all good and fine, but sometimes, I like to keep a few things private. So I journal.
I couldn’t sleep last night. I finally pushed myself out of bed at 5 a.m., and grabbed a notebook to journal. I was really surprised that I had missed discarding some of my thoughts from 2017-2018. As I paged through my past struggles, I realized that I have been making improvements in many areas of my life, but I still have some unresolved issues. I started to work on these challenges a few weeks ago, before I became aware of these forgotten pages. I guess that’s a good thing. It means that when I journal, my brain starts to work on doing some house cleaning. What I do have a problem with is why did it take this long to start resolving my other issues? Perhaps, what I should have done was to keep my pages for a few days, reread them, and make a list of things that I wanted to change.
And this brings me to this point – Timing. They say that Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. If you are not prepared, then you miss the opportunity. It’s best not to put things off and be ready for all the great experiences that the universe will bring. Life is all about timing. If the timing is off, then things will not work out, and we miss having an amazing experience.
